TOM CLANCY'S JACK RYAN Season 3

Season 3, premiering more than three years after Season 2, finds Ryan (John Krasinski) receiving intel that a decades-old conspiracy is gearing up to restore the Soviet Union. With his friend James Greer (Wendell Pierce) out of the field, Ryan must convince new people that the intel is actionable. For a time, the CIA doesn't trust him, and he has to evade authorities from various governments while gathering evidence.

Initially the plot seemed too close to Russia's real invasion of Ukraine, but the show must have anticipated events given its filming schedule. Verisimilitude aside, I found Season 3 ultimately more engaging than 2 because Ryan was no longer a rising star. It almost felt as if he'd gone back to his roots.
